Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Kerala Entrance Examination Commissioner (CEE) has postponed the KEAM or Kerala Engineering, Architecture and Medical Entry Exams. The CEE Kerala said it would reveal the new dates for the Kerala entrance exams later. The KEAM 2020 application forms were approved until 29 February. Because of the Covid-19 outbreak and the lockout, Kerala Engineering / Pharmacy entrance exams scheduled for April 20 and 21 have been postponed to 2020. New dates will be declared later, the Commissioner for Entrance Exams, Kerala, said in a statement.

The review can not be carried out as planned for the wide-spread outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in view of the nation-wide lock-down imposed. In the above circumstances, the government here is postponing the KEAM – 2020 review scheduled to take place on 20.04.2020 & 21.04.2020 to another date that will be determined later, said Kerala, a government order from the Department of Higher Education. Kerala had reported 194 cases, the country's highest. More than a thousand people in India have been infected by the virus and claimed 29 lives. The coronavirus has more than 7,30,000 confirmed cases and more than 34,000 deaths worldwide. Earlier that day, Dr Ashwathnarayan CN, Karnataka's deputy chief minister, said the CET was postponed until further notice. Dr Ashwathnarayan, also the Higher Education Minister, said the revised dates for the Karnataka CET or Common Entrance Exam, which will be published in the third week of April for admissions to professional courses in the State. On April 23 and 24, the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA), the official state agency conducting the CET examination, had set the tests for this year. The registration process was carried out until 16 March 2020.
